The real question

If your website isn't bringing you customers, what is it for?

Most small business websites are digital business cards. They sit there. They look fine. They do nothing. Nobody finds them on Google, nobody calls, and the owner quietly decides the internet doesn't work for their industry.

That isn't a design problem. It's a signals problem. A website earns customers when search engines can read it, AI assistants can quote it, phones can load it fast, and visitors can figure out what to do in about four seconds. Miss any one of those and the prettiest site in Denver still makes your phone stay quiet.

Symptom

Traffic but no calls

People land, read nothing, and leave. Usually the page never says what to do next, or the offer is buried below four screens of scrolling.

Symptom

Nobody can find you

The site was never structured for search. No location signals, no service pages, no schema, nothing for Google or ChatGPT to hold onto.

Symptom

Slow on a phone

Most of your visitors are on a phone with one bar of signal. A heavy site loses a third of them before the first image appears.

Don't take our word for it

Everything on this page is the demo

Anyone can say they build good websites. So instead of a gallery of screenshots, this page is the sample. The speed, the animation, the interactions, the 3D, the way it reads on your phone — that's the work. Here are two you can actually play with.

Why this matters more than a portfolio

A scratch-off ticket is a small thing. It's also the kind of thing that makes somebody stop, use their thumb, and remember the page an hour later. That's what interaction is for — not decoration, attention.

We build these for real clients. A roofer's instant estimate slider. A restaurant's daily specials board that the owner updates from their phone. A contractor's before-and-after drag comparison. Things people use, not things people scroll past.

Real 3D, in a browser, on a phone

Grab the card and spin it. That's a hand-coded WebGL scene, not a video and not a plugin — it loads only when you scroll here, so the top of the page stays fast. The front is a website. The back is the code that makes it rank.

We use the same technology for walk-through showrooms, product configurators and interactive menus. If your business has something worth looking at from every angle, a Denver web designer should be able to show it that way. Walk into a 3D diner we built to see how far it goes.

What we build

Four ways to build a website. We do all four.

Most Denver web design shops sell one platform because it's the only one they know. Then every client gets that platform whether it fits or not. Here's the honest version of each, including where ours is the wrong choice.

Static HTML — our default, and why

No database, no plugins, no admin login. The pages are already built, so the server just hands them over. That makes them extremely fast, effectively unhackable, and cheap to host.

Best for: service businesses, contractors, law firms, clinics, restaurants, anyone whose site is mainly pages and a contact form.

Wrong choice when: you need to publish new content several times a week yourself without asking anyone. Then you want a CMS.

WordPress — when you need to edit it yourself

The most widely used platform on the internet, and we build on it when it's the right call. It gives you a login, an editor, and the ability to post whenever you want.

Best for: businesses publishing frequent blog content, or teams with multiple people updating the site.

The trade-off, stated plainly: WordPress needs maintenance. Plugins update, break, and occasionally open security holes. Nearly every hacked small business site we've been called to fix was hacked through a plugin. If you choose WordPress, budget for upkeep — or let us handle it.

Shopify — real ecommerce with real payments

If you're selling physical products with inventory, shipping and card payments, use a platform built for it. Shopify handles the parts that are genuinely hard: payment security, tax, inventory sync, abandoned carts.

Best for: product businesses, anyone processing more than a handful of orders a week.

Wrong choice when: you sell services and just want a contact form. You'd be paying a monthly platform fee for a shopping cart you never use.

Drag-and-drop builders — the $5.99 option

We offer these too, starting around $5.99 a month, and we'll be straight with you: it's the option we recommend least. You build it yourself from a template, and it will look like a template. Search performance is usually weak because you can't control the underlying code.

Best for: a brand-new business that needs something online this week for almost nothing, with plans to replace it later.

Wrong choice when: the website is meant to bring in customers. Which is usually the entire point.

If that's genuinely where you are right now, you can start with a builder plan and move up to a custom build when the business can carry it.

Security

There are no plugins to hack

Small business websites don't usually get targeted personally. They get swept up by bots scanning the whole internet for one known vulnerability in one outdated plugin. That's how a plumbing company in Aurora ends up serving pharmacy spam.

A static site removes the attack surface instead of defending it. No database to inject. No login page to brute force. No plugin directory to exploit. HTTPS on every page, security headers set, forms filtered for spam before they reach a human.

It's not that we secure static sites better. It's that there's far less there to secure.

When a project does need a server — WordPress, a store, a custom app — we handle hosting too, so there's one number to call when something breaks.

No database

Nothing to inject, nothing to dump, nothing to hold for ransom.

No admin login

No password for a bot to guess at three in the morning.

No plugin chain

The most common way small business sites get compromised simply isn't present.

Search, AI and the signals underneath

Websites of the future are programmed to be found

People don't only use Google now. They ask ChatGPT for a Denver contractor. They ask Perplexity what a website should cost. They talk to their phone in the truck. Each of those reads your site differently, and most sites are built for none of them.

Direct answer: An AI-ready website in Denver is one that publishes its facts as structured data (schema), answers real questions in plain language, loads in under a second on a phone, and lets AI crawlers in. Google, Google Maps, Siri, Alexa, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Perplexity and Copilot all read those same signals — and the agents that will soon book and buy on a customer's behalf read them too.

Schema

Machine-readable facts

Structured data tells search engines and AI models exactly who you are, where you work and what you sell — instead of making them guess from paragraphs.

Speed

Core Web Vitals

Load time is a ranking factor and a conversion factor at once. Static pages and modern image formats do most of the work.

Answers

Written to be quoted

Clear questions with direct answers underneath. That's the format AI assistants pull from and voice search reads aloud.

Access

Crawlers and agents welcomed

Robots rules and an llms.txt file that let AI crawlers read your site instead of bouncing off it — and clean, labeled forms and phone links so an AI agent can act for a customer. Most sites block both by accident.

How we build SEO into the design · AI-ready websites explained · Denver SEO from Eye To Ad Media

Built in Denver, for Denver

Web design from people who actually live here

Denver isn't one market. A Highlands coffee shop, a Cherry Creek med spa, a LoDo law firm and an Aurora HVAC company are all searching for different things and competing against different people. A web designer in Denver, CO should know that the "near me" search from a truck on I-25 is a different customer than the one comparing three websites on a laptop in RiNo.

Our office is at 1001 Bannock St in the Golden Triangle. The founder grew up in Boulder. We've built and ranked sites for businesses from Littleton to Westminster, and we know which neighborhoods search for what — because we've watched the numbers since 2012.

How fast

Some sites go live in 24 hours

Not every project. A single-page site for a contractor who knows what he wants can be live tomorrow. A ten-page site with custom features takes a week or more. An app takes a month or two, sometimes longer.

What we won't do is take three months to build a five-page website and call it a discovery process.

Who you're hiring Zach Wennstedt, founder of Eye To Ad Media

You talk to the person building it

I'm Zach. I grew up in Boulder, started Eye To Ad Media in Denver in 2012, and I also run a bath remodeling company — so I know exactly what it's like to need the phone to ring.

I own and rank a portfolio of several hundred websites. That's not a credential I can put on a wall, but it does mean I've learned what makes a page rank by doing it a few hundred times rather than reading about it.

Denver web design questions

How much does a website cost in Denver?

Denver agencies commonly quote between $9,000 and $22,000 for a professional five-page site, and published guides across the wider market put most professional builds between $3,000 and $15,000. Our custom-coded sites start at $99 per month, and drag-and-drop builder sites start at $5.99 per month. Rates go up with size, complexity and how much search optimization you want.

How long does it take to build a website?

Some single-page sites go live within 24 hours. A typical multi-page business website takes seven days or more. Ecommerce stores usually run two to four weeks. Mobile apps take 30 to 60 days, and larger app projects take longer. The biggest variable is how quickly you can get us your content and photos.

What does the $99 per month include?

A custom-coded website built for your business, hosting, ongoing updates, and the search structure that helps Google and AI assistants understand your site. It is a lease with a buyout option at 24 to 36 months, priced on the site's value at that point. Larger or more complex sites are quoted higher.

Do I have to use WordPress?

No. We build static HTML sites, WordPress sites, and Shopify stores, and we'll tell you which one actually fits. Static is our default because it's faster and has no plugins to be hacked through. WordPress makes sense when you need to publish new content yourself on a regular basis.

Will my website show up in ChatGPT and AI search?

It can, and it's a real part of how we build. AI assistants read structured data, clear question-and-answer content, and sites that allow their crawlers access. Most small business websites accidentally block AI crawlers or give them nothing quotable. We do the opposite, on every build.

Can you build a 3D or interactive website?

Yes. The spinning card and the Denver skyline on this page are hand-coded WebGL scenes that load only when you scroll to them, so the page stays fast. We build 3D showrooms, product spinners, walk-through spaces and interactive tools when they help a customer decide, and we leave them out when they don't.

Do you only work with Denver businesses?

Denver and the surrounding metro is our home market and where most of our clients are. We also build for businesses in Boulder, Fort Collins and across Colorado, and for clients out of state. Local matters most when your customers search with local intent, because that's where knowing the market makes a measurable difference.

Can you fix or rebuild my current website?

Yes, and it's often the faster path. If you already have traffic and rankings, we'd rather improve what's working than throw it out. If the current site is slow, unindexed or built on something unmaintainable, a rebuild usually costs less than repeatedly patching it.

Do you build websites that work on phones?

Every site we build is designed for phones first, because that's where most local searches happen. Someone looking for a Denver contractor is usually standing in their kitchen or sitting in a truck, not at a desk. If the site is slow or hard to tap on a phone, nothing else matters.

What is the difference between a web designer and a web developer?

A designer decides how the site looks and how someone moves through it. A developer writes the code that makes it work. On small business projects that split usually just adds cost and delay. We do both, so there's no handoff and no game of telephone between two companies.

Do I own my domain name and content?

Your domain name is yours and stays registered to you. Your text, photos and logo are yours. If you don't have a domain yet we can help you find one. On a monthly plan the site itself is leased until buyout, which is spelled out before you sign anything.

What do you need from me to get started?

Less than you'd think. What your business does, who your customers are, your service area, and any photos or logo you already have. If you don't have photos or written content, we'll work with what exists and fill the gaps. The projects that stall are almost always waiting on content, so we try not to put that on you.

Who am I actually working with?

Eye To Ad Media, a Denver agency founded in 2012, BBB A+ accredited, with 60 client reviews. denver-webdesign.com is our web design site. You deal directly with the person building your site.
