Website redesign in DenverYour website has value.
A bad redesign throws it away.

Everyone selling redesigns tells you your site is outdated. Almost nobody tells you the real risk: the most common way a redesign goes wrong is losing the search rankings you already spent years earning. Prettier site, quieter phone.

What you're actually about to throw away

If your site has been up for a few years, it has quietly accumulated things that took time to earn and take seconds to delete. A redesign that ignores them costs you far more than the invoice.

Asset one

Your URLs

Every address Google has indexed is a small deposit of trust. Change them without redirects and every one becomes a dead end. This is the single most common redesign failure, and it's completely avoidable.

Asset two

Pages that quietly rank

There's usually one oddly specific page bringing in most of the useful traffic. An old blog post, a service page, an FAQ. Redesigns delete these constantly because nobody checked which pages were working.

Asset three

Links pointing at you

A supplier listing, a chamber directory, an old news mention. Those links point at specific addresses. Break the addresses and the value stops arriving, silently.

The uncomfortable version: a redesign done carelessly can leave you with a better-looking website and less business than you had before. It usually shows up two or three months later, which is late enough that nobody connects it to the rebuild.

Eight questions, sixty seconds

Do you actually need a redesign, or not?

Answer honestly. Nothing gets sent anywhere and there's no email box at the end. One of the four possible results tells you to keep your site and spend the money elsewhere — because for plenty of businesses that's the right answer.

The method

How a redesign should be done

This is the process, not a promise about outcomes. Nobody controls Google's index, and any designer who tells you your rankings are guaranteed to survive is telling you something they can't know.

Keep

What we protect

  • Every URL that Google has indexed
  • Pages that currently bring in traffic
  • Content that already answers real questions
  • Your domain, exactly as it is
  • Business name, address and phone, unchanged everywhere
  • Anything a link from another site points at
Replace

What actually gets rebuilt

  • The theme and the plugin stack underneath
  • Oversized images and render-blocking weight
  • Five services crammed onto one page
  • Copy that states no fact a customer needs
  • Missing or broken structured data
  • Anything blocking search or AI crawlers

The order it happens in

First

Inventory

Pull every indexed URL and every page currently getting traffic. You can't protect what you never listed.

Then

Map

Every old address gets matched to a new one before a line of the new site is written. Nothing gets orphaned by accident.

Then

Build

The new site gets built alongside the old one, which stays live and earning the whole time. No dark period.

Launch

Redirect & watch

Redirects go live with the site, the sitemap is resubmitted, and Search Console gets watched for crawl errors rather than assumed fine.

When to redesign, and when to leave it alone

Worth doing

Signs a rebuild pays for itself

  • It's slow on a phone and no amount of image compression fixes it
  • You can't get changes made without paying someone hourly
  • Google has indexed a fraction of the pages you actually have
  • Every service you offer lives on one crowded page
  • The phone number isn't visible until you scroll
  • It was built on something nobody will touch any more
  • You're embarrassed to send the link to a good prospect
Skip it

Signs you should keep your money

  • It's ranking and the phone rings — don't touch a working machine
  • You just want it to look more modern, and nothing else is wrong
  • All your work comes from referral and nobody searches for you
  • The real problem is that calls go to voicemail
  • Three specific fixes would solve it — speed, a phone number, a service page
  • Cash is tight this month and the site isn't the bottleneck

If you land in the right column, call anyway and we'll tell you which three things to fix. That advice is free and you're welcome to do it yourself or take it to somebody else.

Straight answers

Denver website redesign questions

Will a redesign hurt my Google rankings?

It can, and that's the main risk nobody mentions in the sales conversation. The damage comes from changing URLs without redirects, deleting pages that were ranking, or removing content Google valued. Done properly — inventory first, map every old address to a new one, redirect at launch — a rebuild usually improves things because the new site is faster and better structured.

How much does a website redesign cost in Denver?

Denver agencies commonly quote $9,000 to $22,000 for a professional five-page site, and independent 2026 research puts most professional redesigns between $3,000 and $15,000. Our custom-coded sites start at $99 a month with no setup fee. A redesign that keeps existing content is often less work than starting from nothing.

How long does a redesign take?

Simple rebuilds can go live within a week. Larger sites with a lot of pages to map take longer, usually two to four weeks. The variable that moves it most is how fast decisions get made, not how fast the code gets written. Your existing site stays live the entire time.

Will my site be down during the rebuild?

No. The new site gets built separately while the current one keeps running and keeps earning. The switch happens once everything is ready and the redirects are in place.

Can I keep my domain and my content?

Yes. Your domain stays registered to you and doesn't change. Your content, photos and logo are yours. We'd generally rather keep good existing content than rewrite it, because content that's already ranking has proven itself.

What if I only need a few things fixed?

Then that's what we'll tell you. Speed problems, a missing phone number, or three thin service pages don't require a rebuild. Call, describe it, and if a small fix is the answer you'll hear that rather than a pitch.

How do I know which of my pages are worth keeping?

Google Search Console shows which pages actually get impressions and clicks — it's free and you may already have access. If you don't, that inventory is the first thing we do. It routinely turns up one or two pages doing most of the work that nobody knew about.

Should I move to a different platform?

Depends on why you're unhappy. If the site is slow and you don't publish content often, static is usually the better home. If you post regularly and want to do it yourself, WordPress makes sense. Moving platforms for its own sake just adds risk. Custom vs template.

My designer disappeared and I can't access anything. Now what?

More common than you'd think. Usually recoverable — domain control can be regained through the registrar, and a site can be rebuilt from what's publicly visible plus archived copies. Call and tell us what access you still have. Start with the domain, because that's the piece that matters most.

Do you redesign sites you didn't build?

Most of them, yes. That's what a redesign is. We'll want to see what's there before quoting, because a healthy site needing structural work and a site needing full replacement are very different jobs at very different prices.
